For weeks, we planned out what would make a fun photo shoot since the holidays can be notoriously slow for work. We couldn't decide between a hangar and a runway. I researched Santa Monica Airport, LAX, Ontario, Van Nuy, Mojave airport and even Moffett field in San Jose as possibilities, but realized that if we were going to do this, we'd want to go big. Like 737's and private jets hanging out with us in the hangar. One thing came up every time, 9/11. No one wants you to waltz into a working hanger with a multimillion dollar jet with a bunch of drones anymore. I don't get it america, but ok, no problem. So we hatched another plan. Both Colin and I had shot a drone training video for DSLRPros' Drone Academy X at the Simi Valley Flyers Club field which was perfect. The north-south facing field is perfect for sunset in the winter because the sun sets in the South South West.
